Joining the team!

What team you ask?  Well the team over at Best Creations!  You can find the fun announcement on the Best Creations Blog.  I have been amazed at all the fabulous blogs I've been visiting the last few days!  You should really check them out too!  Congratulations to all the amazing artists that joined the team:

Here is one of the layouts I created with their glitter paper:

Going Live Tomorrow!

I am still in shock that tomorrow is September 1st, 2010 - school is starting back up and before we know it Christmas will be here and then we will be struggling to remember to write 2011 instead of 2010.  Life is happening every moment of every day and I'm happening to say that even though it's speeding on by -- I'm along for the ride!  So much is going on in my life these days and I am blessed by each and every event, good or bad.  Scrappin' is one of the good things and I love that get the chance to work for some fabulous people and work with some amazing designers!  Speaking of fabulous people to work for, Dixie Pieces Kit Club is at the top of my list!  The Groves are wonderful folks and I am honored to call them my friends!  They are gifted too especially when it comes to putting kits together!  They have a terrific vision and every month we are blessed with another amazing kit to work with.  Check out the September kit - (link will go live tomorrow!):

Doesn't that look yummy?  It's a perfect mix for the end of summer - beginning of fall!  Here is the official description for you:

The September kit from Dixie Pieces is all natural with a spunky kick of lime green....Krafty Lime. In this kit you'll receive a calming and fun color combination of lime green, teal, brown, and kraft papers. Embellishments make this kit so much fun to work with including a 12"x12" piece of woven jute, raw muslin fabric, bottle caps, beaded leaves, rub-ons, journal stickers, and more. This kit is perfect for those end of summer layouts!

The Design Team Folder is open and readiy for you to browse through - the variety of inspiration this month is amazing!  I love how we all took the kit in completely different directions and had such amazing results!  I loved how the different greens in the kit work perfectly with all shades of grass in my photos - even the ones that were overexposed!  There are my designs for the month!

These are magnets -- they look pretty cute on my assignment board in my art loft!

The kit goes live tomorrow, September 1st, so make sure to head on over to Dixie Pieces and get your kit ordered first thing in the morning so you don't miss out!  Oh --- and just a little bit of advice for you all --- our huge fall contest will be starting on the 18th of September.  Be on the lookout for that announcement and all the details in the forum soon.  The prize package is going to be amazing!

My Happy Place!

Scrappin' with friends is definitely my happy place!  Spent the day yesterday with Robyn & Carla scrappin', visiting and laughing.  It's nice to have the time to do that and give myself a boost of friendship and sunshine!

Worked on some projects for Brooke and the Urban Scrapbooker - hope you like them!

My Best Friend

It was my best friend's birthday yesterday and we celebrated with the kids.  These days there is nothing that makes me happier than being with David surrounded by all our kids having a great time.

The afternoon started off when we met David at Interbay stadium to watch Jordan and the NU team play a scrimmage with SPU.  It was great to be back there watching soccer and soakin' up the sunshine.

After the game, we went to Queen Anne Hill for dinner at Dick's Drive-In.  There is nothing more perfect than a cheeseburger, fries and a strawberry shake!

Next up was Putt Putt golf.  We hit the course about 6:15pm and were barely through 8 holes when about 50 people showed up for a private party.  When we went back to the clubhouse to see what the deal was, they apologised and said that they never should have let us start.  Their mistake.  They refunded us all our money and gave us a huge bucket of balls to hit at the driving range.  We ended up hanging out till about 7:45.  It worked out perfectly and then we hit Dick's Drive In again for ice cream!

It was the perfect evening with my best friend and the kids!

This set of photos is my favorite!

More photos!

Last week we did back to school haircuts and of course that means pictures - of course, Coop had to get in on the fun!

Trying to Catch Up!

I'm so far behind on processing my photos -- but I'm trying to catch up a little at a time.  So, here is my first batch for you - these are from the softball tournament that David played in a few weeks back with his company team.  We ended up spending the night at the park in the trailer in 95 degree heat!  It was just David, me & Luke and we had a great time anyway!

We were in Orting, Washington in the shadow of Mt. Rainer - it was stunning!

The team:

David on the field:

It was called BOZO softball and they did strange, fun things during each game.  For example, they had one kick ball inning  which was right up Luke's alley:

The small amount of shade that was available -- look really close:

See Luke?  Snuggled up with the dog from the neighbor's campsite!

It finally cooled off in the evening, and the morning was perfect!

We headed into town after the games to cool off:

A little football too:

and a little showing off:

It's time to Share!

Well, it's always time to share on my blog --- after all, what else is a blog for?  LOL

Some miscellaneous stuff for you today:

Playing around with more of my favorite My Mind's Eye stuff, this time from the Abbey Road Collection. You can find all the yummy paper at A Walk Down Memory Lane's Online Store!  A layout with a little secret about me:

Yep --- growing up, I was sure that I never wanted kids!  I didn't like to babysit at all, but as it turns out I just didn't like taking care of other people's children!  Of course, I know now that it's just easier to have a system or a plan as a parent and that only works with your own kids who know the plan! Funny how things all work out --- God definitely has the master plan.

Head over to the Design Team Blog at  A Walk Down Memory Lane for a quick and easy tip on how to use your old boring punches as borders on your layouts!  Let's bring them back to life again!  Can you spot the 3 different basic punches I used for borders on this layout?  2 of them are easy -- but, can you see the 3rd one?

I also have some fun cards today, made with the Autumn Forest Collection from Reminisce:

The card above with the owl on it is also for the ABC Summer Crop over at My Sketch World.  Yep, O is for Owl! A couple more ABC Summer Crop designs for you:

I is for Inky:

K is for Kiss:

With only a few more days of summertime left before school planning kicks in and life takes on a more strict schedule, I plan on playing in my scrap room for the next 2 days!  I'll be back to share with you!  Have a great Thursday everyone.

Happy Birthday Baby!

Today my baby turns 22!  So, you've heard it before but - I don't know how time went by so fast!

Life really does fly by - kids really do grown up  - before you know it they are on their own, leading their own lives and becoming the adults you prayed they become.  I feel like I missed so much with Travis.  As the oldest, I was always occupied with babies and learning how to parent.  We went through a lot together and not all of it good.  But, here we are - happy, healthy and doing good.

I love you baby boy --- more than you can imagine.
